Your pipeline and stages
The Pipeline tab is the first thing you see when you open Reed. It's your sales funnel for the raise: who you've approached, where each person is, and what the pipeline is worth. Only the workspace owner, admins and investor-relations members see it.
What's on the tab
- Reed setup: the checklist bar, until setup is finished. Getting started →
- Fundraise pipeline: "Open weighted $X (raw $Y)" and "N firms, N people, N had a meeting". Weighted is the amount times the stage's percentage. The percentages are your own estimates, not predictions.
- By stage: a count and a bar for each stage. Tap a stage to filter the prospects to it.
- Outreach by channel: texts from your phone (texted, replied, meetings), calls you made, and AI calls.
- Sources (first touch) and the round's rules, when they are recorded. Campaigns and reports →
- Prospects (N) with filters Mine, Stale (14+ days), Held and All stages.
The stages
| Stage | Default percentage |
|---|---|
| Prospect | 0% |
| Meeting | 10% |
| Diligence (RFI) | 25% |
| Second meeting | 50% |
| Term sheet | 75% |
| Committed | 90% |
| Closed | 100% |
| Passed | 0% (closed) |
Open a person
Tap a name. You see Add a note, Move stage, and the Timeline: every stage move, note, call, AI call, text and hold, oldest first. Nothing is edited or deleted; a correction is a new entry.
Move a stage
- Choose the stage, and the date it happened if it was earlier.
- Moving backward needs a reason. Passed asks "Why did they pass?" (Not a fit, Timing, Check size, Other). Reopening a closed person needs a reason.
- Tap Move to <stage>, then Yes, move. Cancel changes nothing.
- Or ask Reed: "Move Acme to Diligence." He shows a card; tap it.
- Just had a meeting? Tell Reed what happened instead: one card logs the meeting, saves your words, sets the source and moves them to Meeting. Tell Reed what happened →
Good to know:
- Committed and Closed are held until you record that the person is accredited, or that you had a relationship before the round began (a card). Ask "Record that Acme is accredited."
- Only the workspace owner, an admin or the person the record is assigned to can move a stage.
- A stage move isn't a conversation. Under the phone-first rule, a person stays phone first until a call is logged as connected. Trust and rules →
Set the check size
Ask "Set Acme's amount to $100,000." Reed shows a card. After you tap it, the weighted total rises by the stage's percentage of that amount. Prospects with no amount are counted separately, so the weighted total never guesses.
Notes and how a person wants to be reached
- Notes: "Note on Mark: he wants the deck after the call." The note goes on the timeline in your own words.
- Reach preference: "Mark said text him, he never picks up." Reed records it with your words as evidence. It never overrides a do-not-contact request, a hold or the phone-first rule.
Programs: grants, credits and accelerators
The Programs tab holds grants, cloud credits and accelerators, apart from investors. Stages are Applied, Interview, Accepted, Rejected and Withdrawn. It shows "Non-dilutive accepted: $X", "Decisions coming" and the list. Add one, or paste a list of up to 50: Preview marks each row with a check or an X, and Add N adds the good rows. Or ask: "We got into NVIDIA Inception, a $25K grant." Programs never appear in Prospects and never count in your raise numbers. An accepted accelerator that takes equity can also be added to the investor list with one card.
Ask Reed
- "How's my pipeline?" and "What's my weighted pipeline?"
- "How's the raise going?" for the formal round: target, committed, received and remaining.
- "What's the history with Mark?"
- "What programs are we waiting to hear from?"
