Rules that always apply
Contacting people about a raise comes with rules. Reed follows the ones below on every request, so you stay inside the lines. Your counsel sets the rules for your round; Reed enforces what is recorded and tells you plainly when something is blocked.
Nothing goes out without your tap
- Email, calendar events, AI call batches, stage moves, merges, amounts and STOP are all approval cards. Nothing happens until you tap.
- Texts are sent by you, on your own phone. Reed writes the fixed wording; you press Send.
- Reed says "sent" or "saved" only when the result says so.
- Follow-up emails after a call are drafts in your approvals and are never sent on their own.
Phone first for raise talk (Rule 506(b))
Everyone on the investor list is phone first until a real conversation is logged (Connected or Meeting booked). Until then, the only written contact allowed is a short missed-call note with no raise material. Reed won't draft an email to someone on that list and will tell you the next step is a call. A text reply isn't a conversation yet.
No deal terms by email
Even after a conversation, the follow-up is a drafted thank-you with links to your materials, not terms.
Quiet hours
Texts go only between 8 AM and 9 PM in the person's own time (8 PM in Florida). Outside that window the Text button is replaced by when it opens. AI calls go only within the firm's business hours.
Europe and the UK
People in Europe or the UK, and numbers outside the US, are listed under Email or LinkedIn instead, not on the text list. A personal text goes to them only if they have messaged you first.
Do Not Call and STOP
- Numbers on the Do Not Call registry don't appear on any list.
- STOP is for good. It asks twice, puts the person on the do-not-call list and removes them from texts, AI calls and call sheets.
Holds
A person introduced by someone is reached only through that person, on every channel, until an owner or admin releases the hold.
AI calls
Landlines only, within the firm's business hours, not on a do-not-call list, under the attempt and daily limits. Alex says she is an AI in her first sentence. Every call is checked again right before dialing.
Records
Everything on a timeline is added, never edited or deleted: a correction is a new entry, so the history is tamper-evident. Reed shows the numbers and where they came from. A tamper-evident record shows that something changed; it doesn't prove the content is accurate or valid.
What Reed won't do
- No legal, tax or investment advice. Reed doesn't tell you who to take money from, whether a round is compliant, or what to file.
- No 409A value. Only an independent appraiser's report can provide one.
- No GO or NO-GO. Reed shows the facts; the decision is yours and your counsel's.
- No mixing workspaces. Reed reads and changes only the list of the workspace you're in.
Who sees what
The workspace owner, admins and investor-relations members see the Pipeline, Programs, Governance and setup. Other members are told so. Only the owner, an admin or the person a record is assigned to can move its stage; only the owner or an admin can merge records.
