Adding and changing people
Your investor list is the list Reed calls from, texts from and builds the funnel on. You add people by asking Reed in chat. He refuses duplicates and records where each detail came from.
Add one person
Ask Reed: "Add Jane Doe at Acme, title Partner, jane@acme.com, 808-555-0100, Honolulu."
- Reed saves them right away at the Prospect stage, with an owner (you, or the person you name).
- The answer says SAVED. They show in Pipeline → Prospects.
- Put a note in the request and it goes on their timeline.
- Under the phone-first rule, they are phone first until a conversation is logged. Trust and rules →
Introduced by someone
Say "introduced by Mark Muñoz." The person is held. No call sheet, AI call, text list or draft reaches them except through Mark, until an owner or admin releases the hold. Use the Held filter on Pipeline to see them.
Duplicates
- Already on the list. If it's the same person (same Apollo ID, LinkedIn, email, a phone with the same name, or the same name at the same firm), Reed refuses, names the record and suggests logging a touch or a note instead.
- Might be the same person. Reed asks you. Only if you say it's a different person does he add them.
- Find them. Ask "Are there duplicates?" Reed lists the groups. Ask him to merge; the owner or an admin taps Merge. Nothing is deleted: the old records are archived and their history carries over, including do-not-contact and holds.
- Typos. A name that isn't found gets "did you mean ...?" suggestions first.
Change a person
All by asking:
- Move the stage and set the amount (Pipeline →).
- Add a note, or set how they want to be reached.
- Record or correct where they came from: "Set Pat's source to LinkedIn." Reed shows a card, and the earlier source stays on the timeline.
- Find a phone number and email on Apollo: "Find Jane's number on Apollo." Reed fills only empty fields and never overwrites a phone or email already on file.
- Find someone: "Is Michael Cohen on the list?" Reed checks the investor list and your contacts, with near-name help.
Log other touches
"Log a LinkedIn note to Pat at Acme." Reed records the touch on their timeline. Under the phone-first rule a written touch doesn't unlock email, so he tells you the next step is a call. For a phone call, use the call sheet or tell Reed what happened. Calls and texts →
Importing a list
Reed can't import a whole list from a file yet, in chat or on screen, and he can't open an emailed attachment (he can read files in your Google Drive). Add people one at a time through Reed, or ask Sage to import a list into your contacts.
Tell Reed what happened
Met someone at lunch, at an event, or through an introduction? Tell Reed in chat, the way you'd tell a colleague. Attach a photo of their business card if you have one; Reed reads it.
"Had lunch with Nina Nova from Nova Fund. She liked the demo and wants the deck."
Reed shows one card. When you tap Save, it:
- Adds the person to your list (or finds them if they're already there, without making a duplicate).
- Logs the meeting as a conversation, with the date.
- Saves your words as a note on their timeline.
- Sets where they came from: Personal network if you met them yourself, or Referral with the person who introduced you.
- Moves them to Meeting in your funnel (or the stage you name).
If someone introduced you and asked that you go through them, say so; Reed then puts a hold on the person so nothing reaches them except through that introducer. Otherwise there's no hold.
If you met them while your raise is open, Reed notes the date: raise conversations with someone you met during the raise may need your counsel's OK first.
