Calls and texts
Reed gets you ready to call and text the people on your list, and logs what happened. He never calls, texts or emails someone on his own: you make the calls and press Send on your own phone.
Early access. The nightly call sheet, the texts page, the AI Calls tab and AI call batches are in early access. They run in one workspace today and are not yet in every workspace. Everything else in Reed works in any business workspace, and you can always log a call or a text by telling Reed in chat.
The nightly call sheet
Every evening at 7 PM Hawaii time, Reed emails each caller their next calls: up to 15 for one caller and 20 for another, set per person. There is no sheet the night before a weekend or a US federal holiday. The email comes from "Reed · SOCIII".
- A Scoreboard at the top for the lead caller: calls logged yesterday against the target, meetings booked, follow-ups due, and the week to date.
- Each person: name, title, firm, phone, and why them. People in a city you are about to visit float to the top.
- A warning mark means "check before dialing" (a main line, or a number that may not match the person).
- A Your texts box links to your texts page (below).
- A short morning reminder on weekdays at 8 AM Hawaii time says how many calls are on today's sheet.
Log a call with one tap
Under each name are links: Connected, Voicemail, No answer, Call back, Meeting booked, Not interested, Texted.
- Tap one. A page opens with one big button, "Log: <outcome>". Opening the link logs nothing.
- Tap that button. The page says "Logged" and shows Undo.
- For Meeting booked you can add a date and time. That puts a calendar hold in your approvals; nothing goes on your calendar until you approve it.
- You can add the person's email for a follow-up draft. A follow-up is only drafted, and waits for your approval. It is never sent on its own.
- Tapping the same outcome twice within a few seconds counts once ("Already logged"). Links expire after 7 days; if one has expired, tell Reed in chat.
Reply in plain words. You can reply to the sheet with lines like "Smith VM, Jones meeting Tue 2pm, Lee not interested". Reed logs each one and replies with exactly what he logged. He answers only the people the sheet goes to. This needs a reply address to be set up for your workspace; if you get no reply, log in chat or with the links instead.
Or just tell Reed. "I called Acme Ventures, they want a follow-up next week." He updates the status and the follow-up date.
Text or call these yourself
AI calls reach landlines only, so cell numbers land on your own list. Open Reed, then the AI Calls tab, then Text or call these yourself.
- Each row shows the name, firm, place, phone, and when you last texted.
- Text opens your own Messages with the approved intro already written. Nothing sends until you press Send. Copy text copies it (for a computer). Call dials.
- After you send, tap Texted, then answer Sent as approved? with Yes or Edited. Edited asks you to paste what you actually sent, so the final wording is on record.
- The person stays on the list with a date to text again: a week later, then two weeks later, three texts at most.
- When they answer, tap Replied, Meeting set (then Move to Meeting stage) or STOP.
The wording is fixed and cleared in advance: who you are and a 15-minute ask, with nothing about the raise. Reed will not tighten, shorten or change it. Ask "What should I text Pat?" and you get the exact text.
Your texts page, on your phone
The same list as a web page that opens in any browser.
- Get the link three ways: the Your texts box in the nightly email; Email me this list for my phone on the AI Calls tab; or ask Reed, "email me my texts link". The link goes only to your own email and works for 48 hours.
- On your phone, tap Text: Messages opens with the text written. On a computer, use Copy text and Copy number.
- Below each text: ✓ Texted (then Sent as approved?), Replied, Meeting set and STOP.
- Texted everyone on the page as written? Tap Mark all as texted, then confirm. Each person is logged once, sent as approved. Edited a text? Log that one on its own row instead. In chat: "I texted everyone on my list" shows one card to tap.
- Email or LinkedIn instead lists the people you shouldn't text, with their email and LinkedIn where we have them.
The same page has a LinkedIn section: your people with a LinkedIn profile you haven't connected with yet.
- Tap Open LinkedIn: their profile opens (in the LinkedIn app on a phone).
- Tap Connect, then Add a note, and paste the note (Copy note copies it). The note says who you are and asks to connect, with nothing about the raise.
- Back on the page, tap ✓ Request sent. They move to Waiting to accept.
- When they accept or answer, tap Accepted or Replied. It goes on their timeline; their calls and texts don't change.
LinkedIn doesn't let apps send connection requests or messages, so you send them yourself; Reed writes the note and keeps the record. In chat: "I sent Pat a LinkedIn request" or "Pat accepted on LinkedIn".
Opening the link on a computer, or letting an email scanner preview it, logs nothing.
Rules for texting
- Quiet hours: texts go only between 8 AM and 9 PM in the person's own time (8 PM in Florida). Outside that, the row says when it opens instead of showing Text. Their time zone comes from their city and their area code; if those disagree, only the hours that suit both count. If the location is unknown, the row stays closed.
- Europe and the UK: people there, and numbers outside the US, are listed under Email or LinkedIn instead. They aren't texted from a personal phone unless they have messaged you first.
- Do Not Call: numbers on the Do Not Call registry don't appear on any list: call sheet, texts or AI calls.
- STOP asks twice. It means "never contact this person again", so it takes a second tap: "Stop texting <name> for good?" with Yes, STOP and a way back. In chat, Reed shows a card with Stop and Don't stop. Once confirmed, the person goes on the do-not-call list and off every list.
- A text reply isn't a conversation yet. Under the phone-first rule, the person stays phone first until a call is logged as connected. Trust and rules →
AI call batches
Alex, your chief of staff, can make intro calls to firms on your list. She says she is an AI in her first sentence, and each call is an intro and a request for a 15-minute meeting.
- Ask Reed: "Schedule 20 AI calls for tomorrow."
- Reed shows one card listing every firm, with city, a masked number and the local time of each call.
- Nothing dials until you tap Schedule these calls (and Yes, schedule on the AI Calls tab). Don't schedule cancels it.
- Before every call the system checks again: landline, the firm's business hours, not on the do-not-call list, the attempt limits and the daily cap of 60 dials. A firm that fails is skipped, with the reason.
- To drop one firm or cancel the batch, ask Reed. To see results, ask "How did today's calls go?" or open Batches on the AI Calls tab and tap Show firms.
- If investor dials are switched off, the batch pauses at its first call and says so.
