Getting started with Alex

You set up your team once: add the workers you want, connect Google, and choose how your chief of staff talks to you. Then you check that email works by sending yourself a test.

Add workers

  1. Tap Add workers in the left menu to open the Marketplace.
  2. In the Business in a Box box, tap Add all 4 workers — free. This adds Accounting (Max), HR & People (Jordan), Marketing (Ivy) and Contacts (Sage).
  3. To add any other worker, find it and tap Add to my team.
  4. Or ask Alex: "Add Sterling to my team." He shows a card. Tap Add and the worker appears in your left menu.

In a business workspace, only the owner or an admin can add workers. Paid workers from other creators start with a 30-day free trial, and you only pay for data during it.

Connect Google

Alex reads and sends email, uses your calendar and reads your Drive files only after you connect them. You do it once in Settings and every worker shares it.

  1. Open Settings and find the Integrations card.
  2. Gmail: tap Connect, sign in with the Google account you send from and allow it. The row says "Connected for sending only." That is enough to send. To let Alex find replies and threads, tap Also let workers read this inbox. To add another address, tap + Add account.
  3. Google Calendar: tap Connect. Workers can then read your schedule and propose events.
  4. Google Drive: tap Connect. Workers can then browse and import your Drive files.
  5. If a row says the sign-in expired, tap Reconnect.

Choose how Alex talks to you

  1. Switch to your Personal Space and open Settings.
  2. In Your Chief of Staff, set the AI Name and Title (how your assistant introduces itself) and the Voice / Accent.
  3. Pick a Communication Channel: Email, Text or Both.
  4. Pick an Autonomy Level: "Just remind me", "Schedule and remind me" or "Handle it for me". Your choice saves when you tap it.

Check that email works

  1. Open Alex's chat and say: "Email me a test. Subject: Alex test."
  2. Alex shows a card with the subject and the full text, and two buttons: Approve and Don't send. Nothing has been sent yet.
  3. Tap Approve. The email comes from your own address. Tapping Approve a second time says "Already done." and sends nothing more.
  4. To check the other connections, ask "What's on my calendar this week?" and, with inbox reading on, "Find the last email from <someone>."

If Google isn't connected, Alex says so in one line and points you to Settings.
