Rules that always apply

Your books are records other people rely on: your CPA, your lender, your investors. Max follows the rules below on every request.

Nothing changes without your tap

Funding is never revenue

A deposit becomes income only with evidence: a Stripe payout, a matched invoice, or you naming the customer. Money from an investor or lender, an advance from a founder, and transfers between your own accounts are never counted as sales.

Personal money stays personal

Personal lines on a personal card never enter your books, not even as owner draws. Max proposes which lines were company costs, with a reason for each. Travel and meals are always "not sure" unless the line names a business purpose. You decide.

Nothing is deleted

A wrong entry is reversed and a new one added. A correction to opening balances carries a written reason. Posted accruals, sent invoices, payments and expenses are corrected, never overwritten. The history is tamper-evident: it shows that something changed. It doesn't prove the content is accurate.

Locked months

After you lock a month, the server refuses changes dated in it. Unlocking needs the owner or an admin and a reason, kept in the audit log.

Numbers show their source

Reports, chat and the CSV exports come from the same books, so they agree. Each opening figure shows its source file and version. Where documents disagree, Max lists the conflict and doesn't pick a side.

Demo workspaces

Demo workspaces never create anything in Stripe. Bank links and invoice payment links are refused there ("switched off in the demo"). Invoices are still created, without a pay link.
